Kristen’s Story
Meet Kristen! Kristen is 37 years old and works at a big tech company in San Francisco, CA. She’s growing in her Product role and has been meeting with the heads of more and more departments such as design, engineering, and marketing. She has also been getting more FaceTime with her CEO. One of her goals is to present herself as a strong leader by reflecting her social side and ability to connect with others. She wants to appear in-touch and modern given her company’s age group is a bit younger. Her current wardrobe is not representative of her taste and consists of mostly “safe” clothing she found at fast fashion stores. Ballet flats, loose tops, long cardigans and blue jeans have been her uniform. Kristen has a hard time dressing her body because she doesn’t know what’s flattering on her, where to shop or what her personal style is.

Enter Ensemble. Kristen’s first step with us was to discover her personal style and how to make it feel more upscale. Being in the hub of tech, there’s a certain youthful energy in her company and she wants to feel relatable to all the age groups and talents she works with. Her “safe” zone had been the same solid top in different colors. However, she really preferred prints and patterns, but didn’t know how to style them. Adding in more prints, patterns and the right pops of colors helped her feel more edgy, current and artistic. This was a big ah-ha moment for Kirsten in terms of understanding why wardrobe didn’t make her feel excited, she wasn’t a plain-jane girl. Additionally, we discovered her love for bold and fun shoes! We were able to take her love for bold shoes and create complimentary outfits for them. Now Kristen’s closet is full of fun shoes like red d’Orsay buckle flats, leopard block heels and studded ankle boots that she gets super excited about wearing - and outfits to match!
The shopping! Kristen was in awe when she was getting designer pieces that were 30-60% off - basically, the same prices she would pay in full for fast fashion. Working with us, she was able to trust that her stylist would spend her money wisely. Additionally, Kristen’s body type is an apple shape with a larger bust, which is a difficult body type to dress. Working with us she learned neck and sleeve styles that minimized her bust and top styles that gave her a waist. Kristen learned how important it is to uplevel quality for a better fit and feel - without breaking the bank, of course. Lastly, she played a huge role in a wedding where two co-workers were getting married and her executives would be present. She wanted to shine bright and be remembered. Since she had a lot on her mind helping coordinate the events, she left the task of creating the perfect outfits to us. During a one hour session, she was able to get two head to toe looks for the events and felt so happy and confident. Bonus: she loved an extra jumpsuit so much that she had to keep it for Sunday brunch!
